About some

SOME was built in reaction to a familiar problem in hospitality: too much advice from a distance, and very little accountability once the work reaches the floor.

Strategies get presented. Reports get handed over. The difficult part starts after that.

We chose to work closer to the operation.

We met inside a larger advisory environment and saw the same gap — between what sounds right in a presentation and what actually holds up in service. Over time, that became the work. Eventually, it became SOME.

We are not traditional consultants. We work as operating partners — close enough to challenge decisions, practical enough to implement them, and direct enough to say no when something doesn’t make sense.

We focus on what actually determines whether a business holds: margins, labour, flow, procurement, standards, waste, team behaviour, and the systems behind them.

Sometimes the work is visible. Often it isn’t. We’re comfortable working quietly and staying out of the way if that serves the business better.

We won’t tell you what sounds good in the room. We’ll tell you what we believe is true, based on experience — and stand by it.

Hospitality is a living business. It needs more than a concept. It needs structure, discipline and people willing to stay close enough to see what’s really happening.

That’s the role SOME was built to play.

If the work becomes performative, we step away.
